For two weeks over the summer break, the Institute of Youth Sports for Peace - the University's sports development arm, organized a training camp for the budding athletes and sports enthusiasts. This was also done in order to engage the University's athletes with the community for them to share the skills and techniques they have earned from the sport they are engaged with. It was also geared to enhance their skills in communication and socialization.
Athletes were given the chance to train and assist in the process for the following events: volleyball, football and badminton. The opportunity also provided exposure to the athletes in their way of dealing with budding athletes from the community.
At the end of the day, enhancing the athletes' capabilities not only involve gameplays but it should also include the leadership as well as proper communication and mentoring skills for they will soon take on the task as team coaches and leaders, in their own respective communities and organizations.
