Empowering 43 female artisans in DR

Dear donor, please receive a warm greeting. We are writing to express our deepest thanks for your donation, contributions from donors like you provide the financial and moral support needed to accomplish our mission of improving the life conditions of a team of women who live in some deprived communities of the Punta Cana region. 

The project remains as a catalyst of sustainable development:

• Socioeconomic: promotion of female employment, generation of direct incomes, community cohesion and skills acquisition.
• Environmental: Local recyclable materials (plastic bags) that are used to make the handicrafts

 As a foundation, we continue supporting artisans by making it possible to sell their handicrafts at the stores of the Fundación Grupo Puntacana, Puntacana Resort and some stores at the Punta Cana Airport, as part of the marketing strategies.

 In the last months the project has provided the advisory and logistical support for their participation in various events in order to gain exposure and boost sales. They participated by setting up an exhibition stand in: 

• Corporate events that took place in Puntacana Resort: Inauguration of the Fundacion Grupo Puntacana’s Marine Innovation Center, Padre e Hijos Business Meeting.

On the other hand, local press continues to report on the impact of the project 

The group of artisans starts the year experiencing a good sales level, which has been the result of the aforementioned actions. As usual, the incomes are distributed among them and a part is allocated for administrative expenses of the association of artisans.

 In the upcoming months we hope to expand the training workshops, diversify the product offering and increase the number of artisans
