The project will support the disadvantaged disabled children who are neglected by the society. This project will help them become a recognizable and equal part of the society. We will provide 50 children with wheel chairs, 40 children with crutches, 25 children with walking frames and 25 children with hearing aids. This will help these children to participate in social activities and will provide them easy access to recreation and education institutions.

Due to lack of facilities and accessibility these children are often left out. In rural Pakistan a child born with a disability is destined for a life of dependency. For the poor this burden can be extreme. Disabled children can be a social, financial, mental and physical burden to their families. Through lack of knowledge and skills of the family, the children do not get the appropriate help they need. The children do not go to school and hardly leave their homes.

Joy Foundation will support the children with disabilities who are deprived of basic mobility needs which have become a barrier for their social inclusion. The aid will include wheel chairs, crutches, walking frames and hearing aids and will be distributed among 140 disable children. Joy Foundation will also campaign for the rights of children with disabilities. The campaign will target the education authorities, local authorities as well as families of the children along with the communities.

Long-Term Impact

The project will directly provide a sustainable benefit to the children with disabilities who belong to poor families. The children with disabilities are bound within their houses, their families earn very less and cannot afford the expensive mobility aids. The children who are excluded from the social activities and their rights to education, skill training and recreation will be provided with mobility aids that will contribute to their access to equal rights as equal citizens and equal humans.
