Project Report: Pakistan Day & Ramadan Sports Festival in QuettaProject Summary
As part of our commitment to promoting youth empowerment, social inclusion, and healthy lifestyles, we proudly participated in the Pakistan Day & Ramadan Sports Festival held in Quetta. The festival, organized by the Karishma Ali Foundation, brought together young athletes from diverse communities to celebrate the spirit of Pakistan Day through sports while embracing the values of unity, discipline, and respect during the holy month of Ramadan. The festival aligned with broader provincial efforts to encourage youth participation in positive recreational activities through multiple sporting competitions.
What We Accomplished
The sports festival created a vibrant platform where boys and girls demonstrated their athletic abilities in a safe and inclusive environment. Participants competed in various sporting disciplines, strengthening teamwork, leadership, confidence, and physical fitness.
Throughout the event, participants:
The festival also highlighted the importance of sports as a tool for peacebuilding, youth engagement, and community cohesion.
Impact on the Community
The event had a positive impact beyond the playing field. Families, coaches, volunteers, and community members came together to support the athletes, creating an atmosphere of encouragement and unity.
For many young participants—especially girls—this festival provided a rare opportunity to compete publicly, improve their confidence, and challenge social barriers that often limit their participation in sports. The experience inspired many participants to continue pursuing sports and healthy lifestyles.
Challenges
Organizing a large sports event during the holy month of Ramadan required careful scheduling to ensure the comfort and wellbeing of participants. Despite fasting and warm weather conditions, athletes demonstrated remarkable dedication and enthusiasm throughout the competitions.
Looking Ahead
Building on the success of this festival, we aim to continue organizing inclusive sports initiatives that empower youth, particularly girls and marginalized communities. Future activities will focus on expanding participation, strengthening local coaching capacity, and creating more opportunities for young people to engage in sports as a pathway to confidence, leadership, and social development.
Thank You
We extend our sincere gratitude to our partners, volunteers, coaches, supporters, and generous donors whose encouragement made this celebration possible. Your continued support helps create safe spaces where young people can grow, compete, and realize their full potential through sports.
