This project will provide affordable and free opportunities for women interested in learning code and software development. Through in person classes and community support in 3 Mexican cities, we will help women of diverse backgrounds achieve their technology goals and build confidence in their careers and their everyday lives. By teaching women how to code, we aim to reduce the gender and digital gap, strengthen, inspire and empower women to change their lives.
There are 995 million native Mandarin speakers, 405 million Spanish worldwide and 360 million English speakers, yet there is one language which unites us all. The language of technology. With three billion people connected to the internet - and growing - technology is radically reshaping every industry, sector, and all our behaviours. So, get behind the screen, become a creator, unearth the meaning and cultures of these codes underpinning the modern world. Learning code is empowering.
We help women by teaching them how to code and showing them on how to leverage existing job marketplaces so that they can freelance and develop websites and apps for clients anywhere in the world. This affords them the opportunity to earn much more than the local or regional jobs and change their lives, and their communities, for the better. This project will help women to improve their social, economic and educational standards.
This project will inspire women to learn code, to improve their lives, and to become leaders and role models in the tech industry. It will inspire and teach woman to become #CodeWomen. Software development is one of the fastest growing job sectors in the world economy and it is projected to grow by 23% and result in salaries that is 42% higher than other jobs. When women make more, they create a virtous cycle by reinvesting 90% of their income back into their families and communities.
