In Cartagena's vulnerable communities, many teenagers lack sexual and reproductive health education, leading to high rates of unplanned pregnancies and STIs. EmpowerED provides interactive workshops, counseling, and community engagement to equip adolescents with knowledge and resources. This project seeks to reduce teenage pregnancies, lower STI rates, and promote informed decision-making, improving educational and life opportunities.
The issue to be addressed is the lack of sexual and reproductive education among teenagers in vulnerable areas of Cartagena de Indias. This increases the risk of unplanned pregnancies, sexually transmitted infections, and rights violations.
This project aims to provide information, guidance, and access to services to promote informed and responsible decision-making.
Reduction of teenage pregnancies and early motherhood rates in vulnerable communities. Decrease in sexually transmitted infections (STIs) through education and access to preventive resources. Empowerment of teenagers with knowledge to make informed decisions about their health and well-being. Improved educational and employment opportunities, as fewer early pregnancies will allow more young people to continue their studies.
