All children-including our at-risk youth-can and should be part of life's "winner's circle." Project Promise's Empowered Me program is a holistic enrichment program designed to empower St. Croix youth with the tools and attitudes they need to be winners in life. Participants will attend engaging Saturday classes held at Project Promise's downtown Christiansted facility. During each 12-week session, the age-group-specific classes and activities will center around six programming pillars.
Many of the children in St. Croix who can truly benefit from the Empowered Me programming come from families that struggle just to put food on the table. These families do not have money available for enrichment programs. While the Empowered Me program is open to all area youth who are willing to commit to meeting our attendance requirements, 50% of slots are reserved specifically for low to moderate income families. This set-aside ensures that this population is served.
The goal of Project Promise's Sponsor a Child fundraiser is to ensure that no child is turned away from the Empowered Me program due to lack of funds. Just $240 per child per 12-week session covers the cost of instruction, supplies and materials, and snacks.
Dedicated to changing lives and improving our community one youth at a time, Project Promise is already a deeply rooted part of the St. Croix community. The tools and support we will provide through Empowered Me are designed to have a long-term positive impact on participants' lives.
