Project: Empower 200 Youth Entrepreneurs in Kisumu & Busia (Project #63569)
Summary
During this reporting period, Saidika Organization continued its efforts to empower young entrepreneurs in Kisumu and Busia Counties through entrepreneurship training, business mentorship, financial literacy, and leadership development. The project aims to equip youth with practical skills and knowledge that enable them to create sustainable livelihoods and contribute to local economic development.
Despite challenges including limited access to startup capital and high youth unemployment, participants demonstrated strong commitment to learning and growing their entrepreneurial potential.
Activities ImplementedEntrepreneurship Training
Youth participated in training sessions focused on business planning, opportunity identification, customer service, marketing strategies, and record keeping. These sessions were designed to strengthen participants' entrepreneurial mindset and business management skills.
Financial Literacy and Business Management
Participants received training on budgeting, savings, financial planning, and responsible management of business resources. The sessions emphasized the importance of sound financial practices for business sustainability.
Leadership and Personal Development
The project integrated leadership and personal growth training to strengthen confidence, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills among participants.
Mentorship and Networking
Youth entrepreneurs were encouraged to engage in peer learning and mentorship sessions, allowing them to exchange ideas, learn from experiences, and build supportive networks.
Impact Achieved
Through this project:
Youth entrepreneurs increased their knowledge of business development and management.
