Thank You

By Jamie Denham | Head of Fundraising

On behalf of everyone at Mkono, I wanted to thank you for your generous donation to our 4th Year Anniversary Fundraising Campaign this past summer. Over the last few months, you were part of a small group of donors that helped us raise over $18,000 CAD to continue our mission of empowering young entrepreneurs in Kenya. We couldn’t be more grateful for your support.

Your donation is already catalyzing change! In August, we disbursed two new loans to Candi Fresh Kenda (an innovative “Food on Wheels” concept run by Carolyne Njunge) and Boreka Kuku Farms (a poultry farm run by Charles Owino). The 200,000 KSH (~$1,900 CAD) loan to Candi Fresh will facilitate the purchase of two new mobile grills to expand its fleet, and the 30,000 KSH (~$300 CAD) loan to Boreka Kuku will help fund inventory to meet surging customer demand expected in the upcoming quarter.

So far, 2023 has been our most impactful year to date. This year, we’ve issued over 1.9 Million KSH (~$18,000 CAD) in loans to 24 entrepreneurs, already surpassing our 2022 full-year loan issuances of 1.5 Million KSH (~$14,000 CAD).

We are excited to continue sharing the impact of your support in the coming months. Please stay tuned for updates and don't hesitate to reach out if you ever want to learn more about Mkono.

Thank you once again for your generosity and belief in our cause. We (and all of our entrepreneurs) are incredibly grateful for your continued support.

Warm regards,

Jamie
