DeckerMed Africa Trust in collaboration with Rotary Club of Embu, Embu Level Five Hospital and the Ministry of Health, hosted a two-day Neglected Women’s and Children’s Diseases™ (NWD) Medical Camp from 4th to 6th February, 2025 at Embu Level Five Hospital, Embu, Kenya. The camp aimed to provide essential healthcare services to women, children and men from underserved communities, focusing on conditions such as pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), breast mass, cervical dysplasia, fibroid diseases, ophthalmic conditions, prostate cancer screening and mental health.
With the goal of reaching at least 400 patients, we served 501. The camp provided screenings and reatment to all,a dditionally, DeckerMed Africa Trust provided medical expertise and logistical support, while Rotary Embu engaged its professional network to raise awareness and encourage local participation.
This camp exemplified a strategic alliance between healthcare professionals, community leaders, and governmental bodies to improve access to specialized care for vulnerable group. The collaboration underscores a shared commitment to addressing neglected women’s and children’s diseases, promoting early detection, and ensuring better health outcomes.This medical camp provided vital healthcare services to patients who might not otherwise have access to quality medical care. By screening and treating conditions such as cervical dysplasia, breast mass, prostate cancer and fibroids, the camp enabled early detection and timely intervention.
