AGAPE HAND AND REFOREST TREES supports women in rural Peru through Tejiendo Vidas, providing training, tools, materials, and opportunities to strengthen their skills, economic independence, and participation in their communities. Working with local women in the central Andes, the project promotes dignified livelihoods, preserves traditional textile knowledge, and helps women build more sustainable futures for themselves and their families.
Women in rural Peru face barriers to economic opportunity, including limited access to skills training, productive resources, income-generating opportunities, and support networks. These barriers can restrict women's ability to earn and manage income, participate fully in household and community decisions, and build greater economic independence. Women in remote communities may face additional challenges because of geographic isolation and limited access to services and markets.
Through AGAPE HAND AND REFOREST TREES' Tejiendo Vidas program, the project will provide women with practical skills training, access to materials and productive resources, and support for livelihood development. Working with women and community partners in rural communities, the project will strengthen skills, expand opportunities to generate income, and support women's participation in decisions that affect their families and communities.
Over time, stronger skills, livelihood opportunities, and economic participation can help women increase their economic independence and strengthen household resilience. As women gain greater capacity to generate and manage income, they can contribute more actively to household decisions and community development. The project aims to create a lasting ripple effect by strengthening women's opportunities, supporting more resilient families, and contributing to more inclusive rural economies.
