In the framework of its Women Entrepreneurship Program (''WEP''), Breaking Ground trains women in Cameroon in the management of small businesses and gives small grants to help start or strenghten their businesses.
For last business class, 27 women attended. During this class, women were invited to write and submit project proposals using skills and knowledge acquired through the WEP business class. They were assisted by trainer.
Projects turn around tailoring, hairdressing, livestock, agriculture, stores businesses were submitted. Our staff made a field visit to participants. The aim of these visits is to assess the project and confirm informations provide by participants. These visits also allow our staff to bring necessary support to participants to improve their understanding on project proposal and funding procedures.
With the project proposal and field visit report, we prepared an information sheet produced for each project. It provide women's enterpreneur personal information and the project detail. This step is ongoing with deadline in two weeks.
The mixed commission will sit in two weeks to select best projects that will reserve funding. a partnership with local micro finances allow us to secure funding and to connect women on financial network.
