Sindh Disabled Welfare Association (SDWA) continued its efforts to support vulnerable women through the Empowering Vulnerable Mothers Through Livelihood Support project. So far, 50 women have benefited from the project through the provision of sewing machines and four months of tailoring training at SDWA. The training equipped participants with practical sewing skills that they can use to generate income and contribute to their household needs.
For many of these women, learning a practical skill has created a new opportunity to become more financially independent. After completing their training, the women are using their sewing skills to make ends meet and support their families. A sewing machine provides them with a tool they can continue using from home, allowing them to take sewing work according to their circumstances and available time.
Through this project, SDWA is helping vulnerable mothers move toward greater economic independence and dignity. By combining skills training with sewing equipment, the project provides women with a practical foundation for earning a livelihood and improving their families’ financial security.
