At Neema, students pursuing dressmaking have the opportunity to complete up to three levels of nationally recognized certificates throughout their time in the program. These certifications, awarded by the National Industrial Training Authority (NITA), mark a significant achievement as the first-ever official credentials for vocational training in Kenya. For vulnerable young women, earning a NITA certificate is more than just a qualification—it’s a transformative step toward self-sufficiency. It equips them with the credibility to start their own tailoring businesses or secure employment in organizations where formal certification is required. Beyond professional benefits, receiving each certificate greatly boosts the students' confidence and sense of accomplishment, empowering them to believe in their potential and build a better future. Remarkably, all the students who sat for the NITA certification exams in December 2024 passed, underscoring the strength of the program and the dedication of the learners.
