Time for the young: the power of responsibility

Workshops are underway as part of the "Power of Responsibility" project, during which high school students in Ek are participating in global education classes on the origins of food, responsible consumption, human rights, and the impact of individual decisions on the world. Participants are exploring the real origins of the products that reach their homes, analyzing complex supply chains and the connections between countries, economies, and everyday consumer choices.
During the workshops, the students highlighted the global consequences of food production and transport and discovered many aspects that had previously gone unnoticed. The classes became a space for reflection, discussion, and critical thinking, demonstrating that even simple choices can have global consequences.
The project combines civic education and critical thinking to foster active participation and social responsibility among young people. Our activities are a response to contemporary challenges: disinformation, social inequality, and a lack of dialogue skills. Students from four high schools will participate in a series of activities that will not only provide them with knowledge but also provide them with the opportunity to take real action to benefit their communities. Our work is based on youth participation, giving them real influence over the project activities and the topics they wish to debate.
A key part of the project is strengthening their resistance to manipulation and false content – participants will learn to analyze sources, recognize emotional messages, and verify the credibility of information.
Starting in the new school year, we will focus on developing argumentative skills, data analysis, and conducting fact-based dialogue. Students will participate in workshops preparing for the Oxford debate: they will learn the difference between a debate and an argument, how to construct an argument, what a good argument should sound like, where and how to verify information sources, what fake news is and how to recognize it, public speaking, and working with stage fright. Each debating group will practice their argumentative line during argumentative sparring sessions, which will allow participants to strengthen their speaking skills while also testing the "weight" of their arguments.

Trwaja warsztaty realizowane w ramach projektu „Moc odpowiedzialnosci”, podczas których mlodziez ze szkól srednich w Elku bierze udzial w zajeciach z edukacji globalnej poswieconych tematowi pochodzenia zywnosci, odpowiedzialnej konsumpcji, praw czlowieka oraz wplywu indywidualnych decyzji na swiat. Uczestnicy sprawdzaja, skad naprawde przyjezdzaja produkty, które trafiaja do ich domów, analizuja zlozone lancuchy dostaw oraz powiazania miedzy krajami, gospodarkami i codziennymi wyborami konsumenckimi.

 

Podczas warsztatów mlodziez zwrócila uwage na globalne konsekwencje produkcji i transportu zywnosci oraz odkryla wiele aspektów, które wczesniej pozostawaly niezauwazone. Zajecia staly sie przestrzenia do refleksji, dyskusji i krytycznego myslenia, pokazujac, ze nawet proste wybory moga miec globalne konsekwencje.

 

Projekt laczy edukacje obywatelska i krytyczne myslenie, aby wzmacniac aktywnosc i odpowiedzialnosc spoleczna mlodych osób. Nasze dzialania sa odpowiedzia na wyzwania wspólczesnosci: dezinformacje, nierównosci spoleczne i brak umiejetnosci dialogu. Uczniowie z 4 szkól srednich wezma udzial w cyklu dzialan, dzieki którym nie tylko zdobeda wiedze, ale takze beda mieli mozliwosc realnego dzialania na rzecz swoich spolecznosci. Nasza praca oparta jest o partycypacje mlodziezy, dajemy im realny wplyw na ksztalt dzialan projektowych oraz na tematy, na jakie chca debatowac.

 

Wazna czescia projektu jest wzmocnienie odpornosci na manipulacje i falszywe tresci – uczestnicy naucza sie analizowania zródel, rozpoznawania emocjonalnych przekazów, sprawdzania wiarygodnosci informacji.

 

Od nowego roku szkolnego skupimy sie na rozwijaniu umiejetnosci argumentacyjnych, analizy danych i prowadzenia dialogu w oparciu o fakty. Uczniowie wezma udzial w warsztatach przygotowujacych do udzialu w debacie oksfordzkiej: poznaja czym sie rózni debata od klótni, jak budowac argumentacje, jak powinien brzmiec dobry argument, gdzie i jak weryfikowac zródla informacji, czym sa fake newsy i jak je rozpoznac, wystapienia publiczne, praca z trema. Kazda z grup debatanckich bedzie trenowac linie argumentacyjna podczas sparingów argumentacyjnych, które pozwola uczestnikom wzmocnic kompetencje mówcze, ale takze sprawdzic “wage” swoich argumentów.
