Rutas Naturbanas continues to grow!

2.4 km will be renovated, which will connect and allow the environmental regeneration of the banks of the Torres River, located between the districts of Uruca and Mata Redonda in San. José, Costa Rica. In addition, we will be reforesting to improve resilience to climate change and contribute to the protection of endangered flora and fauna species.

This is the product of the alliance between RC Inmobiliaria and Garnier & Garnier, with the Rutas Naturbanas Foundation.

This project of sustainable mobility and environmental regeneration will contribute to the ecosystem of the city and the environment of the Torres River. The route will have trails, recreation sites and the necessary facilities to allow safe mobilization.

“Since we started, our dream was a city that didn't turn its back on the river. We wanted a better coexistence of the natural and urban environment, which would serve as a catalyst for the regeneration of forgotten ecosystems in the city and become an attraction for city dwellers and those who visit it. It is very exciting to see this new step materialized, on the road to realize that dream, ”said Dana Víquez, vice president and co-founder of Rutas Naturbanas.

The Foundation’s Presidente, Eduardo Zúñiga added that “this project, in which two companies act with a vision of the city, in partnership and beyond the competition, is an example to demonstrate that it is possible to improve the urban, natural and environmental of our country. This task is only possible if public institutions, civil society and the private sector work together.”

Rutas Narubanas is a citizen initiative that seeks to connect people with the city through nature. The project seeks to create shared use paths in 25km of the banks of the two main urban rivers in San José, Costa Rica, so that people can walk, run, pedal and skate promoting the appropriation of urban rivers and their regeneration.

We appreciate the support you have given us through your donations, we still have a lot of work ahead to build 23 remaining kilometers.
