BACKGROUND
Blessed Echoes Children Alliance ‘s “MISSION” is To work in a holistic manner towards improving the quality of life through interventions that mitigate vulnerability to illiteracy, ignorance, poverty, disease, hunger, environmental degradation and gross abuse of human rights”. We continue to pursue the same mission by ensuring that all children of school going age are kept in school to protect them against the dangerous vices of early marriage among girls, child labor and school dropouts. The second term school program for this year commenced on the 29th April, 2024 and all the number of children in our care reported at the beginning of the term.
IMPACT OF THE PROGRAM
The education program has continued to create an impact in that more children continue to enroll to access education. In our January to April report, we reported that a young girl ASIYA in our community had lost her mother and living with her other sibling under the care of the father who is an HIV/AIDS victim but joined our program in 2019, she is now in primary five and steadily continuing with her studies yet by now she would be a mother at the young age.
CHALLENGE
Blessed Echoes Children Alliance in its routine visitation to the community, our members of staff identified yet another challenge of the girl child turned into mothers during the COVID-19 PANDEMIC. During the two years of the pandemic, many girls became mothers during this period and these young mothers are finding it difficult to make ends meet and we need to do something about their plight. We are proposing to initiate a program that will make them self-reliant and one of them is to train them in skills that will transform them into self-employed. Tailoring and agricultural skills would be very ideal for such people in our community. We hope that in our upcoming fundraising, if we hit our target, we may consider commencing on the plan.
UPCOMING JULY BONUS DAY
Blessed Echoes Children Alliance has been invited by GlobalGiving to join other nonprofit organizations on the 10th July 2024 in the fast-paced, one-day matching campaign to encourage giving from high-dollar donors. We are excited and we have high hopes that both old and new donors will donate to our cause. All the funds we expect to raise from this coming campaign will go a long way in supporting the poor and vulnerable children in our community.
APPRECIATION
We would like to express our sincere appreciation to the past donors whose donations have created a significant impact to our activities and also appeal to more donors to come to our support those who will be participating in upcoming July Bonus Day scheduled on the 10th July 2024.
Warmly,
Baliddawa Henry Muyodi
