Empower Nigerian Young Women with STEM Skills

We are excited to share the first progress update for our Girls in STEM Empowerment Project in Nigeria. While we have officially launched, the need remains urgent, and your support is critical to turning this vision into reality.

Across vulnerable communities, adolescent girls continue to face barriers to STEM education, digital literacy, and technology skills development due to poverty, gender inequality, and limited access to safe learning environments. These challenges increase the gender gap in STEM, limit economic empowerment for women, and reduce opportunities for sustainable livelihoods.

What We Are Doing Now
We are currently laying the groundwork to implement the following:

• Safe, community-based STEM learning hubs
• Mobile classrooms to reach underserved and rural girls
• Hands-on training in coding, basic computing, and digital skills
• Structured mentorship programs for girls, led by female STEM role models
• Community engagement to promote girls’ education and gender inclusion

This project directly contributes to advancing quality education, youth empowerment, and women’s economic inclusion in Nigeria.

Why This Matters
Investing in girls’ access to science and technology education creates a ripple effect:

However, we have only received support from one donor so far. With $52,800 still needed, we urgently require more partners to begin full-scale implementation and reach the girls who are waiting for this opportunity.
