In rural Namayingo District, Uganda, 200 farming families face severe poverty and food insecurity due to heavy crop spoilage. Lacking electrical power and refrigeration, farmers lose up to 40% of their harvests to tropical heat before reaching local markets. This leaves mothers without steady income and exposes children to chronic nutritional gaps.
Mercy of God Mission provides solar-powered cold-storage refrigeration and agricultural support to protect local harvests in Namayingo. The project delivers certified disease-resistant crop cuttings, hands-on vocational training, and essential nutritional support to 200 farming families, equipping mothers and youth with the tools needed for lasting self-reliance.
This project permanently solves chronic food insecurity and post-harvest crop losses for 200 farming families in Namayingo. By providing solar cold-storage infrastructure and practical vocational training, these households will achieve year-round agricultural income, improved children's nutrition, and lasting economic self-reliance.
