Empowering Muslim Girls in Nigeria Through STEM

By Ikechukwu Kelechukwu | Project Lead

Dear Donors,

We are excited to share the first progress update on our mission to expand girls’ education, STEM training, and digital inclusion for vulnerable Muslim girls in underserved Nigerian communities.

Across many low-income and marginalized areas, girls continue to face barriers such as poverty, early marriage, and limited access to quality education. These challenges prevent them from gaining essential STEM skills, digital literacy, and 21st-century competencies needed to thrive in today’s economy. Through this project, we are working to close the gender gap in STEM, promote education equity, and create safe pathways for girls’ empowerment.

What We Are Launching

We are currently in the program setup and community engagement phase, laying the foundation for high-impact delivery. Key activities underway include:

  • Identifying and preparing safe, girl-friendly learning spaces for STEM education
  • Engaging community leaders and families to ensure culturally sensitive, inclusive participation
  • Recruiting and onboarding female STEM mentors and instructors to inspire and guide participants
  • Designing a practical curriculum focused on basic computing, coding, robotics concepts, and problem-solving skills

These efforts will ensure that each girl not only gains knowledge but also builds confidence, leadership skills, and economic empowerment opportunities.

Why This Matters

Investing in girls’ access to technology education, innovation, and digital skills training has a multiplier effect. Educated girls are more likely to:

  • Stay in school longer
  • Delay early marriage
  • Earn higher incomes
  • Support their families and communities

By supporting this project, you are directly contributing to sustainable development, poverty reduction, and gender equality in Nigeria.

How You Can Help

We are just getting started, and your support is critical to reaching our goal.

Your donation will help us:

  • Provide learning materials, laptops, and training kits
  • Expand access to STEM education for girls in remote communities
  • Support mentorship and capacity building for young women
  • Scale this model to reach even more vulnerable girls

Every contribution brings us closer to empowering the next generation of female innovators, leaders, and changemakers.

Donate today and be part of this life-changing movement.

Together, we can break barriers, unlock potential, and ensure that no girl is left behind in the future of technology and innovation.
