A few months ago we started supporting a new project that will contribute to empower environmental leaders in “Golfo Dulce”, South Pacific, Costa Rica: The Arboretum Project. This is a really great opportunity to motivate local people to develop their communities in a sustainable way!!!
Our main goal is to develop a natural trail in the Reserve Forest "Golfo Dulce" with native, endemic and endangered trees. The Arboretum will be a tourist destination that will be managed by local people from nearby communities. Thereby, the project is not only promoting forests conservation, but is increasing knowledge and awareness of local stakeholders and will generate alternative incomes for local families.
We are in the phase of consolidation of alliances and strategic partnerships for the project, for instance an environmental education network called “EducOsa”, community leaders, private businesses and other organizations.
In order to motivate the communities, this weekend we organized the "First Family Sunday at Arboretum" full of funny activities such as watering trees, environmental games, plays and a percussion workshop with instruments from recycled material. You can see in the pictures that the children are very encouraged!!!
Can we continue counting on you? Your support can empower more environmental leaders!
