This project supports the indigent people in Anambra State, Nigeria, especially the out-of-school teenagers, unemployed youths, people with disabilities, orphans and widows, to learn a skill of their choice. This will help to break the cycle of poverty, reduce unemployment and foster self-reliance. We'll focus on high-demand skills like tailoring, hairdressing, digital literacy etc. Your donation will be highly appreciated, as Nigeria faces a high rate of poverty and youth unemployment.
Nigeria is facing a high rate of poverty and youth unemployment, especially in rural communities. Many indigent individuals lack access to formal education, vocational training or capital to start small businesses. Without vocational skills, many young people are unable to find jobs or create self-employment opportunities and the Nigeria's formal job market, cannot absorb the growing youth population, making skill acquisition critical for economic survival.
We will work with local leaders to identify the target beneficiaries and support them to learn a skill of their choice. With the availability of funds, we will also support them to establish their own businesses, after the learning process.
The beneficiaries will gain the ability to earn a sustainable income and support themselves and their families, without relying on the government or other individuals. This would also help to reduce crime, drug abuse, prostitution and extremist recruitment, as idle youth without skills or jobs are more vulnerable to these acts.
