The story of Keerthana of Cuddalore Isha Vidhya school is representative of many families in the community, where the father drinks a lot, spends the meagre earnings in drinking, and the mother of the child is forced to do manual labour to support the family.
Keerthana’s father never takes care of the family. Her mother is uneducated, so she had to go for a manual labour job like the ones offered under “Hundred Days Jobs” scheme. Isha Vidhya came to know about the plight of the family. Keerthana was offered scholarship without which she could not have continued her studies.
Keerthana expresses her deepest gratitude to the donors. The scholarships offered by Isha Vidhya supports hundreds of rural children to get quality education.
