The fundraising efforts for the Solar Energy Light for Agonga and Unyama Clinics project have been slower than anticipated, but the need for sustainable energy solutions in these healthcare facilities remains critical. While the primary objective of the project was to provide reliable solar-powered lighting to both clinics, it has become increasingly clear that additional support is required to meet the essential needs of the patients, particularly the mothers in the maternity wards.
In addition to the lighting, there is an urgent need for heated water to assist in the delivery process and postnatal care. Currently, the absence of a reliable water heating source puts mothers at risk, as warm water is vital for hygiene, comfort, and the overall care of newborns. A solar water heater would provide a sustainable solution to this problem, ensuring that the clinics can offer a safe and comfortable environment for mothers during labor and after delivery.
By integrating solar-powered lighting and a solar water heater into the clinics, we can not only enhance the healthcare services provided but also support the overall well-being of the community. These additions will greatly improve the quality of care and reduce reliance on costly and unsustainable energy sources. While progress has been slow, the continued support and generosity of donors are crucial to bringing these improvements to life for the benefit of mothers and the entire community in Agonga and Unyama.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to GlobalGiving donors and partners for their invaluable support. Your contributions have directly transformed healthcare services at Agonga & Unyama clinics, ensuring safe deliveries, better emergency care, and improved healthcare access. However, we still need your support! With limited funds raised so far, we urge more donors to contribute and help us fully equip these clinics with reliable solar energy solutions. Additional funding will also help us explore the installation of solar-powered water heaters, further improving healthcare services for mothers and inpatients.
