The recurring power blackouts in Unyama and Agonga have a significant negative impact on healthcare services. Critical medical equipment, including ultrasound machines and CBC analyzers, are rendered inoperable, leading to delays in patient care, increased discomfort, and potential adverse health outcomes.
One heartbreaking example of the impact of power outages is the case of two expectant mothers at Karin medical center - Unyama. Both women had traveled long distances to access the health center for ultrasound scans, only to find that the machine was not functioning due to a power outage. The missed scans caused significant anxiety and uncertainty for the mothers, as they were unable to monitor the health and development of their unborn children.
The installation of solar energy systems at Unyama and Agonga Health Centers will represent a viable and sustainable solution to address the challenges posed by power outages. By providing a reliable and renewable energy source, this project will significantly enhance healthcare services in these communities, improving patient outcomes and contributing to overall community well-being. The stories of the expectant mothers highlight the urgent need for such a solution, as it will ensure that critical medical services, such as ultrasound scans, are consistently available to all patients, regardless of power outages.
We urge you to support this initiative and help create a brighter future for the mothers of Unyama and Agonga.
Thank you.
