To empower youth from vulnerable families, our organization embarked on a mission to provide comprehensive training in solar energy systems. Over 62 young individuals, including those sponsored to attend schools like St. Jude, were given the opportunity to learn invaluable skills that bridge the gap between classroom knowledge and real-world applications. Through this program, participants not only gained insights into solar technology but also acquired the ability to address practical needs within their communities, such as lighting up their homes and simplifying the process of phone charging.
The training curriculum encompassed a wide array of topics, ranging from the fundamentals of electrical power transmission to the intricacies of power distribution systems. Participants delved into subjects such as system design, operation, maintenance, and safety protocols, equipping them with a comprehensive understanding of solar energy infrastructure. Hands-on activities played a pivotal role in the learning process, as participants honed their skills through practical exercises. Building circuit and mastering techniques like soldering were among the key highlights, culminating in the collaborative construction of fully functional circuits capable of illuminating bulbs and charging phones.
Following the successful completion of the training program, participants were further empowered through an Entrepreneurship workshop. This workshop served as a catalyst for innovation, providing youth with the necessary tools and guidance to transform their ideas into viable business ventures. By nurturing entrepreneurial spirit alongside technical expertise, our aim is to cultivate a generation of young leaders who are not only proficient in solar energy technology but also equipped to drive positive change and sustainable development within their communities.
