We support 1,000 displaced girls and women in Goma, DR Congo, by providing menstrual hygiene kits, medical soap, and training on menstrual health. In partnership with local groups, we distribute eco-friendly pads and raise awareness on reproductive hygiene to improve their dignity, health, and education in crisis-affected camps.
In the displacement camps of Goma, girls and women face extreme hardship during their menstrual cycles due to a lack of hygiene products, clean water, and awareness. Without menstrual hygiene kits, they risk infection, school dropout, and social stigma. The ongoing conflict in North Kivu has worsened the situation, leaving thousands of young women with no access to basic menstrual care.
We will distribute 1,000 menstrual hygiene kits containing reusable pads, antibacterial soap, intimate wipes, and disposal bags. Women will also attend menstrual hygiene training sessions to manage their cycles with dignity, safety, and environmental responsibility. This hands-on approach empowers them with practical tools and knowledge.
By educating and equipping 1,000 displaced women with menstrual hygiene skills and materials, we promote long-term health, reduce infections, improve school attendance, and boost self-esteem. Trained peer educators will continue sharing knowledge, ensuring sustainability and expanding menstrual health awareness across camps.
