FEMALE EMPOWERMENT THROUGH TECHNOLOGY
With the contribution in GlobalGiving we were able to offer courses to girls from the province of Cartago in Costa Rica, who enjoyed spaces of knowledge and technological exploration, mediated by the construction and programming of projects, inspired by their expectations and life aspirations.
SKILLS DEVELOPED:
Skills in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineer, Arts and Mathematics).
Reinforce thoughts and beliefs that end stereotypes about gender roles.
Promote social skills and collaborative work.
Technological fluency.
computational thinking
The number of benefited girls was 125 girls, who received 10 robotics and female empowerment sessions. In the sessions they were able to carry out technology projects using the Scratch programming language and a robotics kit, which could have been Lego, Arduino or the Hummmingbird kit, depending on the group they formed.
A talk was held for women called Breaking Barriers, which had the objective of empowering women in the STEAM areas.
Thank you for supporting Costa Rican women and girls!
