Dear Donors and Supporters,
Greetings to you and your families from the BASS Children’s Home for Girls in India! We are incredibly happy and proud to share our latest progress report for the period of March to June 2026. Thanks to your foundational belief in our mission, our girls are breaking the cycle of poverty through outstanding academic excellence.
We are bursting with pride to announce that all of our girls passed their annual exams held in March and April 2026 and have been successfully promoted to their next grades. Our highest achievements this term include our senior 10th-class girls, all five of whom passed their crucial board examinations with first-grade distinction. They have already been admitted into Intermediate Colleges to continue their higher secondary education. Furthermore, five of our previous alumni girls have successfully passed their Intermediate college courses with distinction. In higher education milestones, we are thrilled to share that one of our older girls has successfully cleared her third-year Engineering course, and another has finished her second-year Nursing course. These milestone achievements prove that with the right environment, vulnerable girls can excel in complex professional fields like engineering and healthcare.
There are also many positive updates regarding our home and the start of the new academic year. We have recently admitted seven new vulnerable and needy girls into our care, bringing our current residency to a total of 32 girls living safely on-site at the BASS Children's Home. All the girls continue to receive comprehensive care, nutrition, and English-medium primary and secondary schooling.
Before the new term began, the girls enjoyed a much-needed summer vacation in May to visit their surviving relatives and family networks, safely returning during the first week of June completely refreshed and eager to learn. The new academic year is now officially underway, and we are heavily focusing our efforts on preparing four girls who are entering their critical 10th-class board exam year.
While our academic results have never been higher, our funding has hit a critical bottleneck. During the entire March – June 2026 period, we received only $48 in total donations via GlobalGiving.
With 32 growing girls under our roof and a brand-new school year beginning, our daily operational resources are stretched to the absolute limit. We urgently need your support to sustain these successful young women in three core areas: securing academic continuity through tuition fees, required uniforms, shoes, and new textbooks; maintaining health and comprehensive nutrition by providing three balanced, protein-rich meals every day alongside essential medical care and monthly personal sanitary supplies; and covering safe operational costs to ensure a clean, hygienic, and electrified living environment for our residential facility.
"Your support is the bridge between a girl’s difficult past and her professional future. When you educate a girl, you empower an entire generation." We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your unwavering kindness over the years. Whether you choose to set up a monthly recurring donation today or share this update with your personal network, you are an irreplaceable part of these girls' success stories. Together, we are proving that poverty does not have to be a barrier to greatness.
With love and gratitude,
The BASS Children’s Home Team
