Woman's Hope , through the seasons for girls program intends to convene, connect and mentor girls through education and leadership development. The season for Girls Leadership Program educates, empowers and champions girls living in the urban slums of Nairobi - setting them off on the path to self discovery.
Adolescence is a critical time in life for all, but for girls it charts the course for the rest of her life. When a girl reaches adolescence, a window of opportunity in self discovery opens and it can shut fast if she is vulnerable and marginalized and in turn drops out of school, becomes a teen mum or is exposed to HIV or married early. For boys adolescence means independence - for girls it means isolation. To create a better world for girls, we must educate, empower and champion our girls.
Season for girls reduces marginalization and vulnerabilities for girls by advocating for girls rights and educating the community to provide safe spaces for girls to grow and thrive. We do this by developing girl leaders and empowering girl voices while positioning them to tap into education opportunities. Our aim is to empower a generation of girls who become agents of social change.
Season for girls program employs a leadership development approach where alumni create their own safe space clubs in schools and communities, ensuring more girls in the community are receiving support. Our programs invest in the development of the whole girl by offering a referral network for girls to access counseling, health and personal development mentoring and support.
