Between March and May 2026, the Empower Every Child to Read & Write project reached 200 children through targeted literacy interventions aimed at strengthening foundational reading and writing skills.
The program combined guided reading sessions, creative writing exercises, and the distribution of age-appropriate learning materials. A key highlight was the essay writing competition, which gave children a practical opportunity to apply their skills, express their ideas, and build confidence. It also served as an informal assessment tool, showing clear progress in sentence structure, creativity, and comprehension.
Key Results
Teachers and caregivers reported noticeable positive changes, including greater enthusiasm for reading and improved participation in class.
Challenges
The short implementation period and varying literacy levels among participants limited the depth of progress for some learners. This points to the need for longer-term engagement and more tailored support.
