Hello! We hope everyone is healthy and staying safe. We at Until There’s A Cure want to update you on our current project, Empower, Embrace, Educate. Fundraising for our current project allows us to facilitate economic empowerment of South African Women in rural areas. Empower, Embrace, Educate focuses on assisting women who are both infected and affected by HIV/AIDS and are in desperate need to earn an income.
We have only raised a small portion of our goal, however since our project started we were able to purchase reusable handmade masks from women in South Africa. We would love to hit our $2,000 goal so that we can continue to help women in South Africa grow their businesses.
According to the CDC, women in non urban black communities have a higher risk of being diagnosed with HIV. This is because non urban communities tend to be less funded than urban communities. Women in poverty are affected because the lack of resources that are provided which can prevent from seeking treatment, care, acceptance, and support.
We want to continue supporting and empowering women that are living in these vulnerable communities. By contributing to our project and helping us reach our goal, we will be able to help women find self confidence, acquire an identity, respect and status within their communities.
