SOLAR-POWERED PRINTER FOR LAST MILE SCHOOLS

By Elaise Povadora | Project Leader

Solar-powered printer for Last-Mile Schools
Solar-powered printer for Last-Mile Schools

One thousand fifty-two students and fifty-two teachers from ten isolated schools need your help!

Our Last-Mile schools (LMS) continue to face the challenges brought about by the pandemic. To help with the intensifying situation of Last-Mile schools, we launched the Solar-powered printer program. The program aims to help our passionate teachers who travel a minimum of 4 hours to reach the totally unelectrified and isolated schools to deliver education. It will also help our LMS teachers cut down on the printing cost to produce the learning kits for their students, which most of the times come from their own pockets.

We aim to empower 10 Last-Mile schools by providing them access to a solar-powered printer and two solar lights. The project will directly benefit 1,052 students and 52 teachers and indirectly benefit ten isolated communities with an average of 1,000 population.

PROJECT STATUS

We have successfully selected ten isolated schools that qualified for the Solar-powered printer program. Physical validation of schools in Northern Samar, particularly in Las Navas and Silvino Lobos, is currently ongoing and is expected to be completed by the end of May 2022 until the second week of June 2022.

We are excited to deliver our solutions to these isolated schools and communities. Please help us spread the news so we can commence the installations and help create brighter learning facilities for the ten selected schools in Northern Samar.

Maraming Salamat po sa pagmamahal at suporta! (Thank you very much for the love and support!)
