Thanks for all your support FoodCyclers! This year has been a big year for FoodCycle: we’ve secured NESTA funding to test and plan our long-term expansion, which will unlock huge amounts of surplus food for us to cook into healthy meals for people at risk from food poverty across the UK.
Thanks to your kind donations, we’ve served over 2000 meals already this year. You can learn about what we do with this short video: https://vimeo.com/59650046 or see one how it works by watching our Leeds Hub in action at http://blog.foodcycle.org.uk/blog/2013/01/17/meet-foodcycle-leeds/.
One of many people you've made a difference to is Neil, who told us: "You get to know people through the café… you get a meal and a cup of tea and you’re able to talk to other people that might have gone through the same as you. I had a really bad breakdown just over a year ago, and it’s only in the past few weeks that I’ve come back out of me shell and feel myself again… When you’re able to start speaking to people like yourself, it makes it better, it makes it easier on yourself."
Thanks for your support and please consider another donation in the future: it makes a huge difference to a small charity like us.
