Thanks to the generous support of donors like you, 197 students and 14 educators in the conflict affected Dawei area of southern Myanmar received educational instruction and learning materials - despite ongoing military threats and frequent aerial bombing strikes. Provision of education is further hampered by limited internet access and challenging transportation obstacles to reach the schools.
Students represent elementary and secondary grade levels, 55% girls and 45% boys.
Your donations totalling $2,461 supported provision of school supplies, stationaries, text books, and honorariums for the community educators.
These 14 educators attended monthly training workshops to learn:
Each of the 2 schools conducted monthly meetings with community leaders, community patrons, local leaders, parents and the school management committee to discuss monthly performance of the school, future plans, and issues or concerns related to the school.
The attached 'project report' shares photos and comments from several of the students on the importance of education.
Thank you for your generous support of our project. Not only does it provide education, it supports peace and development of the community. "If we want to reach peace in this world, we should start educating children." ~ Mahatma Gandhi
