Breaking Down Barriers, Building Brighter Futures:

For many vulnerable members of the UK Armenian community who have arrived from various troubled part of the world and others connected to them, accessing essential services and understanding their rights has become increasingly difficult. Language barriers, limited digital skills, and the growing complexity of online public services leave many people isolated and unable to access the support they are entitled to.

Every day, the Centre for Armenian Information and Advice (CAIA) helps people facing problems that can quickly become overwhelming. What often begins as confusion over a benefits application can escalate into housing insecurity, debt, or immigration difficulties. Many of those who come to us have nowhere else to turn. They simply need someone who can explain their rights, guide them through complex systems, and advocate on their behalf.

One recent case involved a family of four who were struggling to pay their rent while coping with serious health issues and caring responsibilities. Although the local authority initially decided they were "adequately housed", the cost of their accommodation was simply unaffordable, placing them at real risk of homelessness. CAIA challenged the decision and presented evidence showing the impact on the family's health, finances, and wellbeing. As a result, the case is now being formally reviewed, giving the family a genuine opportunity to secure more sustainable housing before reaching crisis point.

While CAIA was established to support the Armenian community, our advice service also assists vulnerable migrants and individuals from many other backgrounds who face similar barriers to accessing their rights and essential services. Over the past year, CAIA supported 556 people born in 31 different countries, living across 25 London boroughs.

Thanks to your generous support, we provided 1,471 advice sessions and carried out 3,048 follow-up interventions, helping people access welfare benefits, resolve immigration matters, improve employment opportunities, prevent homelessness, and regain stability during some of the most difficult periods of their lives.

Your donations also helped secure an incredible £990,839 in financial gains for vulnerable individuals and families through welfare benefits, debt relief, compensation, and other financial support that many would never have received without expert advice. Beyond the financial impact, we helped people facing housing crises find safer accommodation, supported others in securing their immigration status, and empowered many to build more stable and independent futures.

Every one of these achievements was made possible because of your generosity. Your support ensures that vulnerable people do not have to face these challenges alone and that expert, compassionate advice is there when it is needed most.

Behind every statistic is a person, a family, or a new beginning. The family above is just one example of how timely advice can prevent homelessness and protect vulnerable people before problems become crises. Your kindness is transforming lives by helping people overcome barriers, access their rights, and move forward with confidence and hope.

Thank you for standing with CAIA and for making this vital work possible.
