Sometimes the hardest part of earning a degree isn't getting accepted into college...it's staying enrolled long enough to finish.
After becoming a mother shortly after graduating high school, Bianca spent more than a decade trying to complete her education. She enrolled, stepped away, and started over repeatedly as she navigated the realities of work, parenting, finances, and everyday life. The dream never disappeared, but finishing often felt just out of reach.
Everything changed when shefound H.O.P.E. Through housing support, resources, encouragement, and a community that understood her challenges, Biancawas finally able to stay enrolled long enough to earn her Associate of Applied Science in Business Management. Today, her story has come full circle. Bianca now serves as H.O.P.E.'s Administrative Coordinator, helping support the very program that once supported her.
Her journey is one example of what happens when single parents are given the support they need to persist. Thanks to your generosity, H.O.P.E. has served 167 participants and 331 children throughout Metro Atlanta, helping families overcome barriers related to housing, transportation, tutoring, utilities, school expenses, food, counseling, childcare, and more. To date, we have celebrated 104 graduates and continue to maintain an 85% graduation rate.
Every graduate represents a parent who refused to give up, children who witnessed perseverance firsthand, and a family moving toward greater stability and opportunity. Thank you for helping single parents stay enrolled long enough to discover what they are capable of...and for making stories like this possible.
