GABA HOPE FOR KIDS
Empowering Vulnerable Children and Mothers in Wakiso District, Uganda
IMPACT REPORT
Theme: To The Compassionate Hearts of Our Donors
1. INTRODUCTION
GABA HOPE FOR KIDS is located in Kisigula Village, Wakiso District. Our mission is to ensure vulnerable children stay in school and to empower their mothers and guardians with sustainable livelihoods.
This report is a special thank you letter to the compassionate hearts of our donors. Your kindness has kept children in school, restored girls dignity and strengthened families.
2. A MESSAGE TO OUR DONORS
To the compassionate hearts who have given, shared and stood with us, we say thank you.
Because of you, a child has a book, a pen and a bag to go to school. Because of you, a girl has reusable pads and knowledge that replaces shame with dignity. Because of you, a mother has seeds, skills and hope to feed her children and keep them in school.
Your compassion is protecting learning time and building stronger foundations for our community.
3. WHAT YOUR COMPASSION HAS DONE
A. Kept Children in School
- Provided scholastic materials including books, pens, bags and uniforms to vulnerable children.
- Supported children who had dropped out to return to class and stay in class every day.
- Conducted school visits to encourage learning and protect learning time.
B. Protected Girls Dignity
- Provided menstrual health education to girls in schools and in community groups.
- Distributed reusable sanitary pads, keeping girls learning without interruption every month.
- Helped girls speak openly and support each other with confidence.
C. Strengthened Mothers and Families
- Trained mothers and grandmothers in climate smart farming, kitchen gardening and provided seeds.
- Trained mothers in tailoring and liquid soap making with start-up kits for income generation.
- Built mother support groups for mentorship and resilience.
4. IMPACT STORY - MEET FAITH
Faith is a young girl in primary school who lives with her grandmother. She had missed school because she lacked books and sanitary pads.
Through your compassionate heart, Faith received books and reusable pads. Her grandmother received farming training and seeds.
Faith says: Thank you for helping me to go back to school. I want to become a teacher.
Faith is back in school because your compassion reached her.
5. CHALLENGES WE STILL FACE
- Many more children and mothers still wait for support to stay in school and live with dignity.
- Rising costs of school materials, pad materials and farm inputs.
- Need for more safe spaces for training and mentorship.
- Need to reach more schools with menstrual health education.
6. PLAN FOR NEXT
- Provide more scholastic materials and dignity kits for the next school term.
- Train more mothers and girls in practical skills for food and income.
- Expand menstrual health education and pad distribution.
- Continue home and school visits to protect learning time.
7. APPRECIATION
To the compassionate hearts of our donors on GlobalGiving, our friends, volunteers and local leaders in Kisigula, we sincerely thank you. Your giving has turned hopelessness into hope and shame into dignity. You are the reason our children are still in school.
8. CONCLUSION
Every book you gave is a child in class. Every pad you gave is a girl with dignity. Every seed you gave is a family with food. Thank you for giving from your compassionate heart. Please continue to stand with us.
