EMPOWER AND EDUCATE VULNERABLE CHILDREN IN UGANDA

*REPORT: BEFORE THE SCHOOL BELL RINGS - HELP US PREPARE THEM*

*1. BACKGROUND*
Before the school bell rings, many children in our communities are left behind. They have no uniform to wear, no books to carry, and no fees to enter class. While other children prepare happily, ours sit at home, ashamed and worried. They need us to prepare them now, before the bell rings.

*2. OBJECTIVES*
To prepare every child before the bell rings by:
- Providing uniforms and shoes
- Providing books, pens and bags
- Clearing school fees
- Providing meals and care to be strong for school

*3. ACTIVITIES DONE*
Before the bell rings, we have acted:
- Prepared 150 children with uniforms, books and pens
- Prepared 45 children by paying school fees
- Prepared 200+ children with daily meals for energy to learn
- Prepared 12 homeless children with shelter and care
- Prepared families through counseling and home visits

*4. ACHIEVEMENTS*
- 520+ children will hear the bell and enter class prepared
- Prepared children are confident, clean and dignified
- Prepared children are focused because they are not hungry
- Community sees children ready for school
- Reduced street idleness before school opening

*5. CHALLENGES*
- Many children still unprepared due to limited support
- Not enough food for all 520 to be prepared daily
- No own school premises - still renting
- Rising cost of fees and materials
- Few staff and no transport to reach all children in time

*6. WAY FORWARD*
- Urgent preparation drive before the bell rings
- Provide Readiness Kits for every child
- Expand feeding to prepare all 520 daily
- Secure own land and classrooms
- Build sustainable income projects

*7. CONCLUSION & APPEAL*
Before the school bell rings, a child is waiting to be prepared.
