At Sisterhood Agenda, we want girls to understand something powerful: some of the most important ideas in the world are not immediately understood, supported, or funded. That does not mean those ideas are wrong. In fact, it often means they are what is needed, often ahead of their time.
Real change challenges the status quo. It asks people to think differently, dream bigger, and imagine possibilities they may have never seen before.
For example, Sisterhood Agenda’s PARKS Holistic Housing model was created to do exactly that: to re-imagine affordable housing as a place not only to live, but to heal, grow, connect, and thrive. New ideas like this can make people uncomfortable because they require change, vision, and courage.
As Black women developers in a field where we are still vastly underrepresented, we often face barriers that go beyond funding. We encounter stereotypes, preconceived notions, and systems that were not designed with us in mind. Sometimes, we are challenged simply because we dare to lead, innovate, and believe in solutions that others cannot yet fully see. Other times, we pursue opportunities that they do not want to give to organizations like ours.
We refuse to allow obstacles to define our future. Global girls, think bigger.
We want girls everywhere to know that success is not always immediate. Many groundbreaking leaders, inventors, activists, and entrepreneurs faced challenges and rejection before their work was finally recognized and embraced.
The key is to stay grounded in your purpose. Keep learning. Keep growing. Keep building. Keep striving. Do not give up just because others do not yet understand your vision.
Being unique often means forging your own path.
Advocacy and activism are also important forms of leadership. Sometimes, we must fight for the positive changes we want to see in our communities and in the world.
Speaking up for justice, fairness, and equity takes strength and determination. At Sisterhood Agenda, sophisticated justice expands our growing impacts.
Girls should never be afraid to use their voices, stand firm in their values, and continue pursuing their dreams, even when the road is difficult. That is how transformation begins.
