Project Report: Empowerment of Adolescent Girls
Organization: ASPOVC Namibia
Project Leader: Johannes Shikuloh
Reporting Period: 1 August – 31 October 2026
1. Project Implementation and Progress
During the reporting period, ASPOVC Namibia continued its commitment to empowering adolescent girls despite significant financial constraints. The organization received no project funds during these three months, which considerably limited its capacity to implement planned activities.
Within these constraints, ASPOVC maintained a focus on providing guidance, mentorship and referrals to available community and government support services where possible. These efforts remained aligned with the project's objectives of promoting girls' rights, personal development, gender equality, education and protection.
ASPOVC recognizes that adolescent girls, particularly those in vulnerable households and remote communities, may face barriers to education, access to information and opportunities for personal development. Continued guidance and access to appropriate support services remain important in helping girls make informed decisions about their lives and futures.
However, the lack of funding prevented the organization from implementing activities at the desired scale. Regular community outreach, group empowerment sessions and expanded mentorship activities remained constrained by the availability of resources.
2. Financial and Operational Challenges
The main challenge during this reporting period was the absence of project funding. Without financial resources, ASPOVC could not fully implement its planned activities or expand its reach to additional adolescent girls.
The funding shortage affected the organization's ability to organize community-based sessions, strengthen girls' clubs, provide structured life skills education and conduct broader awareness activities addressing gender-based violence, early pregnancy and child marriage.
Despite these difficulties, ASPOVC remains committed to its mission and continues to seek opportunities to sustain and strengthen the project.
3. Resource Mobilization and Sustainability
ASPOVC recognizes that reliable funding and strong partnerships are essential to maintaining consistent support for adolescent girls. The organization remains committed to seeking financial support, engaging potential donors and developing partnerships that can help restore and expand project activities.
Additional funding would enable ASPOVC to reach more girls, organize regular mentorship and empowerment sessions, improve access to life skills education and strengthen community awareness and referral activities.
4. Priorities for the Next Reporting Period
Subject to the availability of resources, ASPOVC plans to prioritize the following activities:
5. Appreciation and Conclusion
ASPOVC Namibia appreciates the donors, partners and supporters who have contributed to its work and recognizes the importance of their continued support.
Although no project funds were received during this reporting period, ASPOVC remains committed to empowering adolescent girls and promoting their rights, well-being and opportunities for personal development.
The organization looks forward to securing additional resources to strengthen project implementation, resume planned community activities and provide more consistent support to vulnerable adolescent girls.
