Bikes for Kids Wisconsin is a transportation equity hub serving financially challenged people. To date, we have distributed over 12,500 bicycles for economic empowerment providing transportation to school, work, accessing food, services, and more. Transportation is the key to economic mobility, plus there are few issues that can't be improved by more people bicycling. For $150, you can support one individual receiving a shop quality, fully-tuned bicycle, a helmet, and a set of lights.
Many marginalized individuals face transportation barriers, especially in rural areas where public transit is unavailable. Without affordable options, they struggle to access jobs, grocery stores, healthcare, community centers, and education. The lack of reliable transportation isolates them, perpetuates poverty, and limits opportunities to improve their lives. Addressing this challenge is critical to breaking the cycle of financial hardship and ensuring equitable access to essential resources.
