Girls Face Barriers to Skills and Education

By Joy Ojochogwu Etubi | Project Leader

Dear Donors,

We sincerely thank you for your support toward the Empower a Girl For Self-Reliance in Nigeria project. Your contribution reflects care for girls working to build independent and stable futures. However, the donations received so far are still not enough to begin the planned training and support activities.

Across many communities, girls continue to face challenges that limit their access to education and skills training. Poverty and social pressures prevent many from completing school or learning a trade, leaving them with few options for income.

Without support, many girls remain dependent on others and are unable to build a stable future. This also affects their families and communities, where opportunities for growth remain limited.

This project is designed to support 500 girls with vocational training, literacy education, and mentorship. Training areas include tailoring, catering, hairdressing, and ICT, with starter kits provided after completion to help them begin small income activities.

With the right support, these girls can gain practical skills, earn income, and take steps toward self-reliance.

We are grateful for the support already received and remain hopeful that additional contributions will make it possible to begin this program and reach those who need it most.

Thank you for your kindness and continued support.

Sincerely,

Joy Ojochogwu Etubi
