GRACE opened a family resource center in the city of Korat. Korat is the short name for Nakhon Ratchasima and is considered the gateway to Isaan region of northeastern Thailand. The region is primarily agricultural with many families working in the agricultural industry. Compared with the big cities of Thailand, these provinces are more impoverished and illiterate.

GRACE serves the permanent and transient residents living in various substandard communitites throughout the city of Korat. Your generous donations provide educational support for the children.

The children are shuttled to and from the family resource centers from their communities after school on Mondays and Tuesdays. The program provides homework assistance, tutoring and English language classes. Participation has grown to almost fifty children. GRACE expanded the services another weekday to greater meet the needs of our participants.

GRACE added two staff team members to the existing staff. Now, with six dedicated staff members, children receive music, reading comprehension, and other lessons each week.

Thank you for continual support as children are growing in knowledge and understanding.

The GRACE team in Korat Thailand distributes food and hygiene sets to approximately fifty families every two months.

The nutritional sets include large quantities of jasmine rice, fish sauce, oyster sauce, cooking oil, and soy sauce.

The wellness hygiene sets include dental supplies of toothpaste, toothbrush, mouthwash and dental floss.

Ensuring the families have basic essentials provides hope in breaking through the multigenerational poverty-stricken condition in which most of these children live.

GRACE provides transportation for children to the GRACE family resource center's after school program. We currently have 49 children enrolled in the program.

Funding for the program and projects is direct donations. We are grateful for your generous donation.

We will soon celebrate with holiday festivities. The children created Christmas Wish List. They provided answers to their wants, needs, clothes they'd wear, books they'd read, and what they'd really love to have. Their answers both humored us and brought tears of reality.

Many of the children expressed a doubt their wishes even come true. It's these times good humanity is able to instill a hope for the hopeless. Making a Christmas wish come true is only a small aspect of establishing relationships and pouring into their lives through mentorship. Thank you for making hope a reality.

Have a wonderful holiday season and a happy new year!

Excitement Captured in His Face
Excitement Captured in His Face

New toys, puzzles, board games, soccer and ping pong games anticipated their arrival. Then, children filled the center with great excitement. The inaugural day of GRACE Family Resource Center Korat opened for an after school program on Monday, August 20th. It was a remarkable and tremendous beginning with more than forty children ages two to sixteen registered to participate in the program.

The school year began in mid-May. The children enrolled in the program received educational scholarships reimbursing the costs for school including tuition, books, backpacks, supplies and uniforms. More than forty children received scholarships. Eager for the after school program to begin in August, the participation has exceeded expectations with an average attendance of thirty students each day.

The new staff and GRACE leadership of Thailand provided an orientation for the families and children. Several children received homework assistance and all the children began English language classes. Most of the children reside in three communities in the city of Nakhon Ratchasima (Korat). Shuttle transportation is provided to and from two of the communities ensuring access to the center's after school program. Snacks are provided for the children each day.

We have learned much about the children including family dynamics, favorite color, food, animal, school subject and activities. We documented their dreams of establishing careers as adults. These future teachers, doctors, soldiers, policemen, actors/actresses, models, chefs and firemen are empowered to dream and reach their goals because of your support.

Thank you!
