Strengthening the capacity of families to protect and care for orphans and vulnerable children by prolonging the lives of parents and providing economic, psychosocial, and other support.
Increasing serious illness of one or both parents means reduced or loss of productivity which causes economic problems forcing children to become caregivers. This causes psychosocial distress. It loss of one or both parents often leads to, problems with inheritance, children withdrawal from schools, inadequate food, problems with shelter and other material needs, reduced access to health and social services. Children without adequate care are mostly stigmatized and discriminated against.
