From the time we got vetted and approved by GlobalGiving to fundraise for this project,since then we have become a becon of HOPE to the local community by;
1.Raising awareness to the local communities and farmers about the already happening crisis of climate change and their subsequent impacts on our environment and biodiversity and how to navigate everlasting solution to this and prevent further crisis.
2.The roles of an individual and the community,including protection of biodiversity through tree planting as well as participation in policy formulations in regards to climate change and natural resources managenent by the government.
The community now testifies and appreciates HVFUG existence and its incredible efforts in giving them light and advocacy knowledge regarding the environment wherein they live and thrive in.HVFUG has now identified and trained 25 farmers who will be offered 250 trees each to plant so as to boost conservation of our environment and also prevent biodiversity extinction.
Through this project,we created awareness on disastrous impacts of climate crisis,engaging with local leaders and grassroot communities to be part of this project to enable us achieve the project goal.
Here is the Success story of Mr.Owachi,one of the trainees during our community awareness and Advocacy program on climater change.
"I for one used to know that once I own a land,I can do anything on it as I desired,dumping substances,clearing trees,burning of bush without any ones restrictions,but now i have learnt through these trainings that I made mistakes that costs me ,the community I live in and thrive,and if not addressed even generations to come,because trees gives me life through free oxygen supply,beautify and protects my environment from crisis and also other creatures from extinction ,I apologetically agree to plant even more than 250 trees to prove that Iam accountable for the messes resulting into dangerous crisis of Climate change and extinction of biodiversity in my community that I created due to ignorance" He wondered! Once the trees from the nursery beds are ready,Iam willing to plant a double portion .Thank you
