Our main objective is the 'Prevention' of the worst forms of abuse, exploitation and discrimination of girls and young women. The EduCare Project is an innovative, unique, pragmatic and efficient new approach to support the helpless, hopeless and the most vulnerable. 'EduCare' stands for Education, Healthcare, Food, Clothing, Hygiene, Counseling and Protection. We are focusing on families that are headed by single mothers/grandmothers with dependant daughters.
Our target group consists of impoverished single mothers, widows and grandmothers, with dependant children especially daughters, who have a place of residence, however primitive these may be, but otherwise lacking in everything. They are malnourished, have no medical care, are poorly dressed and are always on the verge of tragedy and they are in constant danger of abuse, and/or to be kidnapped with false promises to the brothels of India, China and the Middle East.
Depending on the family situation and individual needs, these families receive basic food, medical care, education, clothing and advice on all aspects of life. These families do not receive cash and all are encouraged to continue to support the family. The help is direct, efficient, cost effective and requires no infrastructure or complex administration. With this concept, a minimum of dependency is created, as these people are cared for at their homes with their basic needs covered.
These families are regularly visited by our TEAM. Once a month they receive staple foods, education for the children and all health care and items of personal hygiene. By supporting the most vulnerable and helpless in the manner described, we will be able to meet our claim of preventing the worst forms of violence, exploitation and discrimination, within our means. With 1 dollar per day per beneficiary, we are able to care for these people and make all the difference for them!
