BLPARW's Efforts to Enhance Women's Entrepreneurship in Nigeria

BLPARW is committed to empowering rural women in Nigeria and providing them with the tools they need to succeed as entrepreneurs. To achieve this goal, BLPARW has implemented a capacity development program for 70 female entrepreneurs in Kwali, FCT, Nigeria.

Our Solution

Utilizing the GIZ Modular Approach The program employed the GIZ modular approach, which consists of four modules: INSPIRE, CREATE, START, and SCALE. The CREATE module is targeted at introducing individuals with business ideas or willing to embrace entrepreneurship this is ideal for informal businesses. The START module focuses on business stabilization for existing businesses/Start-ups. The SCALE module is targeted at enterprise expansion for existing businesses interested in scaling up. The GIZ modular approach combines capacity building with business development support leveraging on the entrepreneurial ecosystem. This comprehensive approach provided the women with the necessary skills and knowledge to develop and grow their businesses.

Key Achievements:

• Business Formalization: Twenty informal businesses were successfully guided through the process of formalization, laying a strong foundation for their growth and sustainability.

• Branding and Marketing: All 70 beneficiaries received training in branding and developed effective business models and growth plans, enhancing their market presence and competitiveness.

• Business Planning: All beneficiaries drafted Business Model Canvases and Growth Plans for their respective businesses, providing a clear roadmap for future development.

Empowering Women, Transforming Communities
