Rice Processors Capacity Building Initiative

Executive Summary

This report details the implementation of a comprehensive capacity building program for 110 Rice Processors in Kwakwuti, Paikoro Local Government Area, Niger State. The three-day training focused on cooperative management, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy, conducted in partnership with the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Nigeria (SMEDAN) and the Department of Cooperatives, Niger State Ministry of Labour and Productivity. This training was conducted to commemorate the 2025 International Women's Day.

Program Overview

Location: Kwakwuti, Paikoro LGA, Niger State Duration: 3 Days Participants: 110 Female Rice Processors Partners: SMEDAN and Department of Cooperatives, Niger State Ministry of Labour and Productivity

Date: 13th to 15th March, 2025.

  • Basic bookkeeping and financial record maintenance

  • Access to credit and financial services
  • Savings mobilization and investment opportunities

Expected Outcomes

The capacity building initiative aims to:
