Project Activity Integration

By Ganizani Sisya | Executive Director

Introduction

This report provides an update on the status of the "Empower 200 Girls in Malawi to Build Farming Apps" project. Following a review of our program activities and strategic priorities, it was determined that the project's objectives and activities align closely with those of a newly developed project, Tidzuke Girls Engineering Network.

The Tidzuke Girls Engineering Network project has been developed to provide a broader and more sustainable platform for empowering girls through engineering, technology, innovation, mentorship, and STEM skills development.

Project Status

The "Empower 200 Girls in Malawi to Build Farming Apps" project has been closed as a standalone initiative. However, its objectives, activities, and intended outcomes have not been discontinued. Instead, they have been integrated into the newly developed Tidzuke Girls Engineering Network project to ensure continuity, improve coordination, and maximize impact among beneficiaries.

Reason for Integration

The integration was undertaken to:

  • Align related STEM initiatives under one comprehensive program.
  • Improve project implementation and coordination.
  • Enhance the efficient use of resources.
  • Expand opportunities for girls to access STEM education and mentorship.
  • Strengthen the sustainability and long-term impact of the activities.

Activities Integrated

The following activities from the project have been incorporated into the Tidzuke Girls Engineering Network project:

  • Digital skills and coding training.
  • Introduction to mobile application development.
  • STEM innovation and problem-solving activities.
  • Engineering and technology awareness sessions.
  • Mentorship and engagement with STEM role models.
  • Career guidance and encouragement for girls pursuing STEM pathways.

Expected Benefits

The integration is expected to:

  • Provide girls with continuous access to STEM learning opportunities.
  • Increase the reach and impact of STEM empowerment programs.
  • Create a stronger network of girls interested in engineering and technology.
  • Improve sustainability through a long-term structured program approach.

Conclusion

The "Empower 200 Girls in Malawi to Build Farming Apps" project has been transitioned into the newly developed Tidzuke Girls Engineering Network project. This transition ensures that the project's original vision of equipping girls with digital, engineering, and innovation skills continues while being delivered through a broader and more sustainable initiative.
